WSU Cross Country Continues to Close the Gap, Shows Promise for the Future
The Washington State University men's and women's cross country teams were led in the 2007 season by experienced seniors who make up sixth-year head coach Jason Drake's first recruiting class...women's team came on late in the season thanks to strong individual performances to finish well at the Pacific-10 Championships...men's team ran solidly throughout the season and raced against some of the best teams in the country at the Pac-10 Championships and the NCAA West Regional...sophomore Sara Trané, a Swedish import, was the top woman finisher in almost every race...senior Isley Gonzalez had the best performance of her career at the Pac-10 Championships, finishing eighth overall and received All-Pac-10 second team honors...seniors Andrew Jones and Alex Grant performed consistently for the Cougar men...junior Drew Polley led WSU at the NCAA West Regional Championships with a 25th-place finish.

WSU Women Sixth, Men Eighth at NCAA Cross Country West Regionals
The Washington State University men's cross country team finished eighth overall at the NCAA West Regional Championships led by a junior Drew Polley and senior Andrew Jones, while Sara Trané and Isley Gonzalez led the WSU women, Saturday at Springfield Country Club in Eugene, Ore.

WSU Cross Country Looks to Earn National Bid at NCAA West Regionals
The Washington State men's and women's cross country teams take part in the NCAA West Regionals hosted by the University of Oregon Saturday, Nov. 10...teams from the Big Sky, Big West, Pacific-10, West Coast and Western Athletic conferences will compete...men's 10,000m championship race starts at 11 a.m. and is followed by the women's 6,000m race at 12:15 p.m...Springfield Country Club course is mostly grass...additional information is available at http://goducks.com/.

Q & A with Isley Gonzalez
Senior cross country runner Isley Gonzalez placed eighth at the Pacific-10 Championships Saturday, Oct. 27, earning second team All-Pac-10 honors. She helped the Cougar women to a fifth-place team finish. Gonzalez is from Sunnyside, Wash., and is majoring in education at WSU.

Cross Country's Performance at Pac-10s Earns National Recognition
The Washington State University women's cross country team moved up five spots in the USTFCCCA West Region poll, Monday, Oct. 29. The Cougars also received votes in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Div. I National Poll Tuesday.

Cougar Women Place Fifth, Led by Eighth-Place Finisher Isley Gonzalez
The Washington State women's cross country team was led to a fifth-place team finish at the Pacific-10 Championships by Isley Gonzalez, who placed eighth. The men's team placed seventh at the Trysting Tree Golf Course.

Cougars Set to Race the Best at Pacific-10 Championships
The Washington State men's and women's cross country teams will travel to Corvallis, Ore., for the Pacific-10 Championships hosted by Oregon State University...Cougar men will race at 9:30 a.m. on an 8,000m, mostly grass course at the Trysting Tree Golf Club...women's 6,000m race takes place at 10:30 a.m.
